Bailout for OWS ? Intresting How Selective they Are.

Posted By Jacob Laksin On February 29, 2012
In Daily Mailer, FrontPage
Bankruptcy makes for strange bedfellows. During its brief spell on the national stage, the Occupy Wall Street movement raged against rich corporations – “corporate fascists” in OWS parlance. But as the national spotlight has faded – and as cash from progressive donors has dried up – the movement’s soak-the-rich agitators are set to welcome a financing boost from the same “1 percent” they once denounced.
OWS’s corporate benefactor is the so-called Movement Resource Group, a funding venture backed by the left-wing founders of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream as well as the former manager of grunge group Nirvana, among others. The group has raised some $300,000 so far, and plans to raise around $1.8 million to revive the moribund movement.
Ben and Jerry’s involvement in the cause is entirely in keeping with the company’s activist giving. Driven by its founders’ Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield’s radical politics, the ice cream giant has long funded extreme left-wing causes through its Ben and Jerry’s Foundation. Dispensing funds to a broad spectrum of left-wing groups, from ACORN to the Tides Foundation, the ice cream makers have never seen a contradiction between their commercial success and their intense loathing of free-market capitalism. In recent years, for instance, their foundation has endorsed the “Earth Charter,” a document that blames capitalism on the world’s environmental, social and economic ills. The charter declares that “the dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing environmental devastation, the depletion of resources, and a massive extinction of species” and blames capitalism for causing the “gap between rich and poor.”
Considering how closely these tenets align with OWS’s class-warfare rhetoric, it’s no wonder that Ben and Jerry’s see OWS as the ideal vessel for their views. Last fall, Ben and Jerry’s issued a statement of solidarity with the OWS protestors, praising them for raising issues of “fundamental importance to all of us,” and pronouncing themselves “honored to join you in this call to take back our nation and democracy.” Ben and Jerry’s also endorsed the movement’s grievances, bemoaning the fact that “[c]orporations are permitted to spend unlimited resources to influence elections while stockpiling a trillion dollars rather than hiring people.”
To be sure, that opposition to corporate money in politics doesn’t seem to apply to Ben and Jerry’s, which is now trying to spend millions to influence the political process through OWS. Nor, seemingly, does it apply to Unilever, the global conglomerate that owns Ben and Jerry’s and which spent a million dollars on political lobbying in 2010.
But hypocritical or not, the funding comes at a desperate time for OWS. By all accounts, the movement is in shambles. Now that it is no longer generating media attention, the movement’s finances have fallen to $200,000, half of which is apparently designated for bail money for arrested occupiers. OWS also has nothing to occupy, having been evicted from its hijacked headquarters New York’s Zuccotti Park last November. To that end, funds from the Movement Resource Group are intended to pay for an OWS office in New York as well as stipends for “core activists.” Exactly who these might be is not clear, but given OWS’s history of violence, the infusion cash should raise eyebrows.
In fairness, not all OWS protestors have welcomed the corporate bailout. Some are already complaining that the movement’s financial backers want to turn it into a progressive nonprofit, complete with a liaison and formal operational structure. For a movement that prides itself on its decentralized nature, the imposition of a top-down hierarchy would be an embarrassing setback.
Still, the fact remains that without that bailout, OWS looks likely to disappear from the political scene altogether. The movement that drew media in flocks has become a distant memory. And nothing better underscores OWS’s irrelevance than the fact that the self-styled anti-corporate, anti-capitalist movement may soon be dependent on corporate cash to keep it alive.

WHAT WOULD COME OUT OF A BROKERED PRESIDENTIAL CONVENTION ?

Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona announced she is endorsing Mitt Romney. This is no great surprise. Romney is leading in Arizona. Most politicians are looking out for Number One. They want to pick the winner and Brewer believes she is doing that.
Many people are now openly talking about an open or brokered convention.
Is a brokered convention in the best interest of conservatives?
Many conservatives are coming out against a brokered convention. There are good reasons to oppose a brokered convention. Many, such as Richard Viguirie has strongly come out against a brokered convention. He points out the establishment controls the Republican Party. He also points out that any candidate who comes out of a brokered convention would be an establishment RINO.
Mitt Romney now leads in the delegate count. The drumbeat has begun again saying that Romney is the inevitable candidate. He is the one who will win and the one who can beat Obama.
As I have pointed out many times, believing Romney can beat Obama is assuming facts not in evidence.
We have not gone through Super Tuesday. There are still a lot of things that can happen. But what happens if Santorum or Gingrich cannot win?
If Santorum or Gingrich cannot beat Romney, we are better off with a brokered convention.
Why?
Romney is flawed candidate. He cannot beat Obama. Romney must be denied the nomination.
What if a RINO comes out of the brokered convention?
Could a RINO that comes out of the convention be any worse than Romney? Romney is a liberal. There is no doubt. His record is that of a liberal. He will talk like a conservative to get elected but that is it.
If we go to a brokered convention, we might end up with Mitch Daniels, who says he is not running. We might end up with Chris Christie. No, we won’t end up with him. We might even end up with Paul Ryan.
If our choices are Mitt Romney or a player to be named later at a brokered convention, we are far better taking our chances with someone who is to be named later. We might even get a conservative out of it.
One thing is certain. There is one way the Democrats can spell four more years. They spell that: Mitt Romney.

A message to all members of Tea Party Nation

How can you tell Obama is lying?  Well, if his lips are moving that is a pretty good clue.  Obama claims he wants to help American workers get back to work.   Yet every action he takes is just the opposite.  If we had a real adversarial media or if Obama were a conservative Republican, he would get called on his lies.

STANDING WITH THE... 'MAN'

CHRISTIANS ARRESTED…. for Praying in Front of THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE (White House)
Occupy Washington protesters have been camping on US Park Service property for the past four months. They littered and trashed the park. They urinated and defecated all over it. They even defaced public property and nearby buildings.

But few arrests were ever made.

However, let a group of six religious leaders kneel and pray in front of the White House, only to have Obama’s first line of protection around the Peoples House, US Park Police swoop down like vultures on a fresh kill and carry the men off to jail. From being on their knees in front of the presidential palace, the peaceful protesters were charged with failure to obey a lawful order.

After being booked, they each paid a fine of $100 and then were released.
Father Wilde of Priests for Life and Rev Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition organized the prayer meeting in front of the White House to follow up on the lawsuit that Priests for Life filed against the Obama administration to put a stop to the contraceptive mandate.

Speaking to a reporter, Father Wilde said,
“Occupy Wall Street protesters have been occupying federal property for months, but when we kneel in prayer, the police are called in and we are arrested.
“We knew that was the risk when we gathered today, and we will do it again regardless of the risk. What people of faith – of every faith – need to do now is stand with us.”

Obama Dividend Tax Would Devastate Retirees

Buried within President Barack Obama’s 2013 budget is a proposal to triple the tax rate on corporate dividends which now stands at 15 percent, a move that would have a severe effect on retirees, The Wall Street Journal notes in an editorial.

Rev. Peterson: Obama Is NOT A Christian

Rev. Peterson: “Obama Is NOT A Christian—Why Won’t Rev. Graham And Rick Santorum Admit It?”

LOS ANGELES—Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND Action and the South Central L.A. Tea Party (SCLA TP) released a statement rebuking GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum and Rev. Franklin Graham—two leading Christian figures—for their timid response when questioned about President Barack Obama’s radical interpretation of Christian tenets. He cited Santorum’s recent backpedaling after he faced some controversy for questioning Obama’s “phony theology”; and Rev. Graham’s refusal to answer truthfully when asked on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” whether he believes the president is a Christian. Graham said he doesn’t know whether Obama is a Christian. However, Graham did say that there was “no question” that Santorum and Gingrich are men of faith.

“I am certain without a doubt that Barack Hussein Obama is NOT a Christian. It’s unfortunate that Rev. Graham and Rick Santorum won’t be completely honest about Barack Obama even though his deeds are contrary to Christian values.

“Both these men oppose Obama’s recent contraceptive mandate and assault on the Christian conscience. They know that for 20 years Obama worshiped in Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s racist Black Liberation Theology-based church. They fully grasp the spiritual connection America has with Israel and see that Obama is no friend of the Jewish State. Rev. Graham has said that Obama is more concerned with the plight of Muslims than the Christians that are being murdered in the Muslim countries. Still these Christian leaders cannot tell the truth about Obama. Why?

“I do agree with Santorum that this is a ‘spiritual war’ and that ‘Satan is targeting the U.S.’ which is precisely why I believe Barack Obama was selected and elected. I’m convinced that the weak-kneed timidity that’s preventing many white conservative Christians from pointing out Obama’s wickedness is a result of their fear of being labeled ‘racist.’

“Evil understands that most white Christians have been intimidated and are too afraid to stand up to it. Especially when it is operating in the form of an American hating Socialist black president who appears to be more in harmony with Muhammad than he is with Christ.”

Heaviest Element Yet Known to Science: (Gv) [Humor]

New Element

Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science.

The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 - 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of morons promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Thankfully, Mr. Jefferson was rarely at a loss for words of wisdom. "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." ~ Thomas Jefferson

YES / There were WMD's under Sadam Hussein in Iraq

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qpsUdgTWITI

YES !!!!!!
As I have always supported and contended - George Bush did NOT lie.

THIS IS GOOD DETECTIVE WORK - How can Obama get away with this ?

from James H. Illies CPM....

1. Back in 1961 people of color were called 'Negroes'. So how can the Obama birth certificate state he is 'African-American' when the term wasn't even used at that time?

2. The birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama's birth as August 4, 1961. It also lists Barack Hussein Obama as his father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama's birth, it also shows that his father is age 25 years old and that Obama's father was born in "Kenya, East Africa". This wouldn't seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama's birth and 27 years after his father's birth. How could Obama's father have been born in a country that did not yet exist? Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the "British East Africa Protectorate".

3. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital". This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called "KauiKeolani Children's Hospital" and "Kapi'olani Maternity Home", respectively. The name did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged. How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978?

Why hasn't this been discussed in the major media?????  AND WHY DON'T OUR POLITICIANS DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.  ARE THEY SHEEPLE ?
See ATTACHED Birth Certificate, as released by the White House - clearly dated 1961.  It supports the above contentions. WHOEVER CREATED THIS FRAUDULENT CERTIFICATE WAS PRETTY DAMN STUPID. / FRED  2/20
Please send this to everyone you know with the hope that we can force the media, as well OUR NATION, to address this CORRUPTION.

Detail on how next the Democrats will try to beat up on Santorum

For Santorum, Front-runner Status Comes With Scrutiny

The Morning Line
Welcome to life as the presidential nomination front-runner, Rick Santorum.
Cash and fawning crowds aren't the only things that accompany a surge in national momentum. Santorum is getting plenty of those, but also he is also seeing increased scrutiny on every front.
The latest Gallup tracking poll released Sunday found Santorum leading Mitt Romney, 36 percent to 28 percent, among Republican voters, just one more piece of good news for the former Pennsylvania senator.
But now that more reporters are on Santorum's trail, and with President Obama's campaign paying attention for the first time, the GOP's new favored candidate has landed on the nation's front pages.
Santorum "faces a new hurdle: defining himself positively before others rush to disqualify him," Dan Balz wrote on the front page of Sunday's Washington Post.
Santorum presents himself as a committed and consistent conservative with blue-collar roots -- just the kind of candidate Republicans need to energize the party's base and reach out to Reagan Democrats in a campaign against President Obama that could be decided in the nation's industrial heartland.
Obama advisers and other Democrats see a Santorum whose record, writings and statements, particularly on social issues, will be used to portray him as far too conservative for many voters. His record, they say, could make Santorum anathema to suburban swing voters, especially women.
Balz's piece included a Republican strategist fretting, "[T]hey're going to put the wood to him. He'll get defined by the Obama people so fast he won't know what hit him." The piece also quotes Santorum strategist John Brabender saying that his boss is "extremely reasonable."
As Stuart Rothenberg (@stupolitics) wrote in his column for Roll Call, "If Santorum were a baseball team, he'd be a small market (undoubtedly Pittsburgh) team with weak pitching, no closer, a shortstop with no range and a first baseman with the nickname of 'Doctor Strangeglove' (the nickname of former Pirates first baseman Dick Stuart)."
He adds:
In fact, Santorum the baseball team could never have gotten as far as Santorum the politician.
He wouldn't be a factor because the rules of baseball still apply. Winning teams have a strong starting rotation, are strong up the middle (pitcher, catcher, centerfield, second base and shortstop), have an unassailable closer and play solid defense. And winning teams haves creative general managers who are given enough resources to put together strong teams.
Traditionally, there are "rules" that apply in politics as well. But this year, things seem different. They don't seem to apply, which is a problem for those of us who look at the past to understand the present and to project future outcomes.
Democrats, already eagle-eyed for catching anything they consider inflammatory, jumped on Santorum's comments Saturday in Ohio. He told potential voters that President Obama is acting on "some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology."
The remark prompted scolding from the president's surrogates and the Obama re-election team, which said it smacks of a GOP campaign fraught with "searing pessimism and negativity." Asked about it on CBS' Face the Nation, Santorum insisted, ""He says he is a Christian. But I am talking about his world view or his -- the way he approaches problems in this country. And I think they're different than how most people do in America."
On Monday morning, Team Romney previewed some of the lines you can expect to hear from the candidate or see on the airwaves about Santorum's long career in Congress. From a press release:
A Lot Has Happened Since Senator Santorum Started Running For Congress In 1989:
Major World Event In 1989: George H.W. Bush Is Inaugurated As 41st President Of The United States. (White House Website, www.whitehouse.gov, Accessed 2/19/12)
Academy Award-Winning Best Picture For 1989: "Driving Miss Daisy." (IMDb.com, 2/19/12)
Top Television Shows In 1989: "Roseanne" & "The Cosby Show." ("Names In The News," The Associated Press, 1/1/90)
Billboard's #1 Hit Single In 1989: Chicago's "Look Away." ("Billboard Top 10s Of 1989," St. Petersburg Times, 12/29/89)
Notable Television Premiere In 1989: "Seinfeld." (Julie Washington, "'Seinfeld' Bus To Stop By: No Soup For You, Though," Plain Dealer, 10/19/08)
Video Game System Introduced In 1989: Nintendo's Game Boy. (Omar El Akkad, "Attack Of The Gadgets Leaves Nintendo Limping," The [Canada] Globe And Mail, 1/27/12)
But it's still a four-man race.
Santorum is playing for Newt Gingrich's home state of Georgia, which votes on Super Tuesday, March 6. His aides think it's possible to put the state in striking distance, but Gingrich isn't giving up without a fight.
The former speaker of the House will stay afloat over the next few months, thanks in part to a new cash infusion casino mogul Sheldon Adelson will give to his Winning our Future super PAC.
That money is already being put to use with an attack on Romney. Winning our Future has a new 60-second radio ad attacking Bob Dole and John McCain as what happens when the GOP "establishment" picks a moderate nominee. "They think they control the Republican party," a narrator intones. "There are more of us than there are of them. We want our party back and our country." Listen to the ad here.
